Thursday, August 27Grace “Mama” Marino Lifetime Achievement Award dinner: The awards will this year honor 81-year-old Baton Rouge native Frank Bologna, a 50-year veteran of B.R.’s food industry. The evening will include entertainment by the Ned Fasullo Orchestra, and a six-course dinner prepared by local chefs. A selection of fine wines will complement each course. Cocktails start at 6:30 p.m. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $200.
Friday, August 28Last Days of Linen Food & Wine Gala: This evening kicks off a friendly (we hope!) competition between local chefs, who will exercise their full culinary skill set in the hopes of winning the gold. Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Troy Davis Trio. Additional diversions include a silent auction, a local artists showcase, a raffle for an “instant” 75-bottle wine cellar, and over 150 wines to sample along with the chef’s specialties. 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tickets are $75 in advance, $85 at the door.
Saturday, August 28Cork Poppin’ Cajun Rockin’ Food & Wine Gala: A second chef’s competition will be held on the final afternoon, accompanied by live zydeco music, wine tasting, and a special appearance by Chef John Folse. 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets are $75 in advance, $85 at the door.
