Fashion feels the force at Uncommon Thread

This is seriously this city’s hottest art show. Gorgeous models in avant-garde gowns. Recycled plastic crowns. It hardly seems like the Baton Rouge your grandparents knew. Head to the Louisiana State Museum for the second-annual Uncommon Thread Wearable Art Show at 8 p.m. (7:30 if you want a close-up spot) and experience more than 35 artists’ fashionable interpretation of the theme, “force.” The show begins with a movement performance choreographed by Micaela Marchand Coner set to music by DJ OttO and the LSU Gospel Choir.
