Family picks: See ‘The Magic Flute’
Hear Mozart’s classic opera at First Baptist Church
Opéra Louisiane’s Young People’s Opera Program tackles Mozart’s The Magic Flute Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church (529 Convention St.). The Magic Flute is a two-part opera that premiered in the late 18th century. This weekend’s cast includes Marie Marquis as Pamina and Kameron Loperore as Tamino. The show will be sung in English with English dialogue. Seating is general admission. Tickets are $15. Children under 18 years old and college students with a school ID will be allowed free admission. For more information, click here.

Next week features two big live shows that are perfect for the entire family. Nickelodeon’s popular group The Fresh Beat Band performs at the River Center Saturday, Nov. 22, at 5 p.m. The band will break out its greatest hits for the afternoon concert. Tickets start at $42.50.
