Enjoy a car and garden show and chili cook-off at LSU – Three family-friendly events will take place in and around LSU’s Parker Coliseum this weekend.
Three family-friendly events will take place in and around LSU’s Parker Coliseum this weekend. The festivities kick off Saturday at 9 a.m. with the 12th annual Spring Garden Show. The event is hosted inside the coliseum where the floor will be transformed into a world of plants and garden-related merchandise. Also on Saturday, the eighth annual regional chili cook-off starts in front of Parker Coliseum at 10:30 a.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. Tasting tickets will be available for $5 for six bowls of chili. The state chili cook-off is Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Also on Sunday, the fifth annual Spring Car Show will be hosted outside the LSU building. Registration is $25 and the event will take place 9 a.m.-noon. Judging starts at noon, and awards will be given at 2 p.m. All models and years are welcome. Music and children’s activities will also take place.
