Eddy Perez – LSU photographer on Baton Rouge
“My ideal day in Baton Rouge begins on a crisp fall Saturday morning, sipping hot espresso at Magpie Café while catching up on news and social media. I imagine the lemon ginger scone being so delicious that it requires an Instagram photo post.
From there, a bike ride around University Lakes would to Mike the Tiger’s habitat for a quick visit and a few photos.
My next destination would be the farmers market downtown, via a scenic ride on the levee alongside the Mississippi River, to buy some fresh produce.

After resting for a bit at home, it’s time to meet my brothers at Highland Park for a round of disc golf, where I shoot some nice action photos of us throwing discs through the woods. We’ll be starving afterwards and in the mood for something home-cooked and nearby, so we’ll head to La Reyna for some scrumptious Central American food.
The plantains and fish tacos are great fuel for the next endurance sport: shopping at Perkins Rowe with my girlfriend.
I’d stop at Highland Coffees for a matte latte before getting home to ready my photo equipment.
A celebration with friends at Radio Bar and a few ping-pong games would be a great end to the night.”
