Eco-friendly fashion exhibit

The West Baton Rouge Museum partners with LSU’s Division of Textiles, Apparel Design and Merchandising to showcase select graduate works, starting this weekend. The first work to be shown in this series is that of Kate Daniel, who is exploring sustainability and the environmental movement in the fashion industry. Daniel has designed an eco-friendly reversible cocktail dress collection made from “green textiles” of locally grown materials. By using sustainable fabrics to create garments that can be reversed, she affords women an entirely new collection of cocktail dresses in their closet. The dresses will be on display May 18-24 and will include a gallery talk and reception this Saturday at 1 p.m. westbatonrougemuseum.com
