Easy Marinara Sauce – Serves 6

Forego the complicated sauces and try out a traditional easy marinara.

1 cup chopped onion
˝ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
3 Tbsp. olive oil
2 cloves minced garlic
3 (14-oz.) cans crushed tomatoes
2 Tbsp. tomato paste
Ľ tsp. dried thyme
Ľ tsp. dried oregano
Ľ tsp. salt
Ľ tsp. sugar

1. Sauté onion and pepper flakes in olive oil for 3 to 5 minutes and add in the garlic.

2. Sauté for an additional 30 seconds and add the crushed tomatoes.

3. Stir in the tomato paste and the dried herbs.

4. Season with salt and add in the sugar.

5. Simmer over medium-low heat for 30 minutes then serve over fresh pasta.
