Du Jour: Stuart Ourso, Southern Dawgz
Between his two rescue pooches, Louie and Tehya, and his four well-established weenie carts, Baton Rouge native Stuart Ourso is all about dogs. His Southern Dawgz operation has become a go-to purveyor of hot dogs in the area. He specializes in quarter-pound dogs with trimmings, along with other savory favorites like jambalaya, smoked brisket, pulled pork, boudin, tamales and more. “It’s been a blast,” says Ourso. “We really like interacting with customers, and response has been great. We’re a friendly kind of a food cart. We have great conversations with our customers, and they seem to really like what we do.” Click here to read the whole story.
