Du Jour: Scott Overby, Doe’s Eat Place
Scott Overby grew up in the small, northeast Louisiana town of Lake Providence, about 30 minutes from a well-known restaurant called Doe’s Eat Place in Greenville, Miss. Celebrities and regular folks flocked to Doe’s for its behemoth steaks, hot tamales and rustic vibe, including Overby’s parents, who headed there for date nights and special occasions. On the mornings after, he would search the ‘fridge for leftovers, having no idea as he sank his teeth into morsels of t-bone that he’d have his own Doe’s one day.
