Lafayette native Jonathan Foreman grew up enjoying the outdoors, a passion he carried with him to Durham, N.C., as an undergraduate at Duke University. Foreman says he saw the same relish for hunting, fishing and college sports among all southerners, no matter what state they called home, and the region’s collective passion inspired him to create secsportsman.com. The website invites fans to compete for their favorite school by posting photos and info about their hunting and fishing exploits. “I noticed there was a lot of user-generated content about college athletics, and some about hunting and fishing, but none that combined the two,” he said. Foreman, now pursuing an MBA at LSU, launched the project from the Louisiana Business and Technology Center’s Student Incubator.
