Twenty-three years ago, Shreveport native Jimmy Rosso opened a small restaurant in a rustic, 1920s building to complement his growing catering business. Monjuni’s Italian Café & Grocery quickly built a loyal following with its easy vibe and casual line-up of po-boys, muffalettas and spaghetti and meatballs. Word spread, the menu grew, and today, Monjuni’s sports seven locations, five throughout north Louisiana and two in Baton Rouge. “It’s hard to find places where a family can eat dinner for $30, but you can do that here,” he says.
