Two Baton Rouge culinarians have launched a new project with roots in a familiar pie operation. Delight Thyself, a venture by Juban’s Restaurant co-founder Miriam Juban and veteran caterer Tanya Dillon, is a fresh iteration of the pie and jam company Feliciana Delights, with room for new signature creations. It kicked off earlier this month. Juban, who sold her share in the restaurant a few years ago, knew that Feliciana Delights creator Judy Piker wanted to get out of the Clinton-based pie business that had kept her and her family busy at the Red Stick Farmers Market since its early days. Juban recalls, “I called Tanya and said, ‘You want to go for a ride?’ ” The two visited Piker’s operation, and learned to create her noteworthy lemon, chocolate, pecan and coconut pies as well as tarts and other recipes.
