Double Duchess on DVD

Those who watched Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette and were put off because she did little more than party during her reign, The Duchess may do the trick. Based on the life of 18th Century English aristocrat, Georgiana the Duchess of Devonshire, this sprawling period piece follows Keira Knightley as she struggles in a love triangle with her husband, and his live-in mistress. Knightley’s Dutchess then falls for an ambitious politician whose outspoken views align with her own, an affair that has scandal written all over it. Ralph Fiennes co-stars. Rated PG-13.
