Primo’s: The expansive restaurant on Bluebonnet Boulevard, near I-10, retains its romantic charm, but new chef Jaime Hernandez has taken the Creole-inspired French faire and added an Italian flavor. It might sound confusing, but it definitely works.St. Vincent de Paul: The well-known non-profit has gathered recipes from area volunteers and celebrity chefs Holly Clegg and John Folse and the result is Taste & See: Food for the Body and Soul. The collection of South Louisiana recipes are weaved with collections of inspiration stories.Proceeds go to St. Vincent de Paul. The cookbook retails for $21.95 (svdpbr.org). Zagat’s loves N.O.: Zagat Survey has released its 2008 New Orleans dining and entertainment guide which, in a victory for the city’s fine food legacy, updates last year’s survey to add 75 restaurants that have either reopened or are new since Hurricane Katrina.
