‘Defiance’ of the rules
The Manship Theatre will screen the World War II epic Defiance this Sunday, in conjunction with the Cut! Costumes and the Cinema exhibit at the Louisiana Art and Science Museum. The year is 1941, and the Jews of Eastern Europe are being massacred by the thousands. Managing to escape certain death, three brothers—played by Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell—take refuge in the dense surrounding woods they have known since childhood. There they begin their desperate battle against the Nazi occupying forces. Tickets are $5, and your stub gets you a discounted rate to see the actual costumes from the movie down the block at the LASM. Visit manshiptheatre.org to buy your tickets.
