‘Dearly Departed’ puts the fun in dysfunctional

The New Venture Theatre will present the life-and-death play Dearly Departed on the Independence Park stage this week. When the Turpin family’s venerable patriarch sheds this mortal coil, his wayward children have to get their own lives together to bury him. It’s easier said than done, though, as personal troubles and just plain bad luck plague them at every turn, changing tragedy into a raucous comedy of errors.
