De Niro and Pacino go for a Righteous Kill

The last time these two cinematic titans appeared together it was for one all-too-brief scene in Michael Mann’s crime epic Heat, a worthy film that unfortunately is best known this year as a major influence on The Dark Knight. This time Robert De Niro and Al Pacino play New York City detectives investigating a potential serial killer and questioning whether a rash of new murders proves they helped convict the wrong perpetrator years ago. With lots of talk about guns and little “Sympathy for the Devil” in the trailer, this looks like Scorsese-lite, but with Pacino and DeNiro it ought to be a fun ride.
