Dark Skies (in theaters Friday)

This month belongs to Keri Russell; the rest of us are just living in it. The former Felicity star is experiencing a career resurgence thanks to her starring role on TV’s hottest new show, the KGB spies-posing-as-Yanks thriller The Americans, and now comes her first high-profile starring film role in recent memory, the alien-invader thriller Dark Skies.

When a series of bizarre incidents culminate in the terrifying facts that, A) aliens do exist, and, B) her son has been earmarked for abduction, Russell’s suburban mother must to everything in her power to keep her family safe. Dark Skies is the latest, cold-blooded thriller from Priest and Legion director Scott Stewart, and the film co-stars Josh Hamilton and young newcomer Dakota Goyo. Rated PG-13.
