Cruisin’ and bruisin’ Derby

Skates, skirts and scars rule as the Red Stick Roller Derby presents a double-header bout this Saturday at the River Center. First up, the rookie Capital Defenders will take on Lafayette’s Acadiana Good Times Roller Girls in a knock-down, drag-out bout. Then Baton Rouge’s all-stars, the Diables Rouges, will battle the Spindletop Roller Girls. These lovely ladies will teach you a whole new meaning of “Hell on Wheels” as they fight it out on the track with their fellow rollergirls. Tickets are $12 in advance, $14 at the door, and kids under 12 get in free when accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Visit redstickrollerderby.com for more information.
