Describe your style in three words:
Casual. Bold. Eccentric.
How does your career impact what you wear?
Fortunately there are no restrictions on clothing other than wearing closed-toe shoes while on set.
Since coordinating requires me to be in the office, I make sure to bring a light jacket or sweater. I also make sure to wear clothes that I don’t mind messing up, in case I have an art project to work on or if I’m going to set.
If we’re shooting on location versus at a stage, I’ll want to make sure to be weather appropriate: light-weight tops and shorts if it’s summer, tall boots if we’re in the woods, rain gear, jeans and weather-proof jackets during the winter. Most importantly, I wear whatever’s comfortable. An average workday is 10-14 hours.
What is your essential item for the fall season?
A comfortable pair of black boots or booties.
What is your favorite look on the opposite sex?
I like the look of tailored jeans or trousers and a skinny tie.
Who is your style icon and why?
I’m not entirely sure that I have a style icon. However, I am inspired by everyday people, colors and textures. A few designers that I enjoy are Vivienne Westwood, Carlos Miele, Alessandra Rich, Sister by Sibling, Jun Takahashi, Moschino and Manish Arora.
What is your favorite local store?
I have a DIY complex when it comes to accessories. I tend to say, “I can make that,” but I do enjoy the occasional purchase of unique or handmade jewelry at local festivals or events like the Baton Rouge Arts Market. Noelie Harmon is also a great spot for handmade jewelry, Toms shoes and unique apparel. And I like Blink for their bold colors and prints.
Okay, it’s date night, and you’re going to a restaurant or out for a drink. What do you wear?
Colored jeans, chiffon top with a small cross-body bag, and a pair of high heels.
Describe your style in three words:
Bohemian meets punk.
How does your career impact what you wear?
The outfits I choose usually match with the style of music I perform. When on stage, you want everything to sort of mesh into one unique experience. This includes not only the music, but the visual appeal of the show as well.
What is your essential item for the fall season?
I really like platform sneakers, or pumped-up kicks as they’re calling them.
What is your favorite look on the opposite sex?
As casual and low-maintenance as possible without skipping showers.
Who is your style icon and why?
I don’t know that I have a style icon. In general I am influenced by the bohemian style, which is kind of representative of feeling free and untamed. It’s more about doing your own thing and not having any fashion guidelines to follow.
What is your favorite local store?
My favorite spots are in New Orleans: LF and Free People. My favorite online brand is BlackMilk. They have some pretty wild legging designs that are fun for performing.
Okay, it’s date night, and you’re going to a restaurant or out for a drink. What do you wear?
Is staying in allowed? My dates usually happen at home in a T-shirt. If he bribes me with food, I will probably still wear the T-shirt and throw on a pair of jeans or leggings.
Describe your style in three words:
I’ll use two: Southern preppy.
How does your career impact what you wear?
It allows me to experiment with daring color combinations and push the boundaries a little more. My profession also lends itself to dressing somewhat more casually, which is also harder to pull off and still look fashionable than it is when the dress code is “Office 101” suit and tie. I also suspect there is an expectation that people who work in creative fields will have more of a flair for fashion, so there is a little added pressure to step up my game.
What is your essential item for the fall season?
Grosgrain ribbon belts and colored watch wristbands.
What is your favorite look on the opposite sex?
Elegant, timeless, sexy.
Who is your style icon and why?
Ralph Lauren. No one better epitomizes classic, timeless style with a deep understanding of the social and historic context of design in both fashion and interiors.
What is your favorite local store?
Aristocracy. The owner has a great eye in what she selects for the store, which tends to be young, hip and stylish, but also classic.
Okay, it’s date night, and you’re going to a restaurant or out for a drink. What do you wear?
A pair of designer jeans—Adriano Goldschmied’s are my favorites—tailored shirt, skinny tie and wingtip shoes.
