Crank it up Friday

The tagline reads “He was dead…but he got better,” so you know what you’re in for with Crank: High Voltage. Three years ago Jason Statham’s hitman Chev Chelios learned his archrival had injected him with a poison that would kill him if his heart rate dropped in the original Crank. That film ended with what appeared to be Chelios’ death. But now he’s is back in another cardial quandary. A Chinese mobster has replaced his heart with an electric version than needs regular jolts of electricity to keep on ticking. The concept is laughable, but the action is pure B-movie fun. David Carradine, Amy Smart and Dwight Yoakam co-star. Rated R.
