Courtney J. Clark – Catching up with the Baton Rougean-turned-budding actor
HERE: Theatre Performance student, LSU
THERE: Actor, Los Angeles
I technically left after graduating from LSU in 2007, but I was working a lot in film television all around Louisiana until early 2011.
The food! I always had my favorite hotspots when I lived in town. Chelsea’s Café for their grilled cheese and tomato, artichoke and mushroom soup, and The Chimes for their chargrilled oysters and Sunday brunch. Can you tell I’m a foodie?

The weather! Every day in Los Angeles is so beautiful. Once in a blue moon, when it rains, people don’t know how to react here.
I feel like the diversity of Los Angeles is so wonderful. You have Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Little Ethiopia and Koreatown, just to name a few. You can learn about their different histories, foods and cultural ideas so easily. I am always up for broadening my horizons and my views to other people.
Christmastime last year. I come back to Baton Rouge every year around the holidays to see my family and friends. It’s nice to come back and just veg out.
Well, No. 1 on my list would be to visit family. There’s nothing like relaxing and having a good laugh with them. But don’t get me wrong; dancing, eating and visiting Mike the Tiger are all right up there for me.
Of course! I think it’s a great market to be involved in. Production companies always want local talent or ways to save money. And if it’s a great project [that is shooting in Louisiana], I’d love to be a part of it.
I’d have to say playing Zac Efron’s sister in The Lucky One. That was such a great experience. Everyone was excited to work on such a cool story. And that made for a very fun set to be on. And it helps that it opened a lot of doors for me. For that I am really grateful.
