Corn mazes and haunted houses get into the ‘spirit’
October means fall weather, fall foods and just a touch of scary. Around Baton Rouge, we have tons of options for family-friendly events that celebrate the changing season, and several good scares for the adrenaline junkies as well. Here are a few to check out: Every Saturday in October, LSU’s Burden Center presents a family-friendly corn maze from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Admission is $5. Call 763-3990 for more information. Fridays through Sundays in October, Pine Grove’s Cajun Country Corn Maze also opens with corn launchers, a pumpkin blaster and a giant spider web—as well as a spooky haunted corn maze for those who dare. Fridays, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sundays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. General admission is around $10. For more information, call 357-4924. And of course, Baton Rouge’s biggest haunted attractions, the 13th Gate and Necropolis 13 are open for the season, and have already racked up plenty of acclaim nation-wide. The attractions are open at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays with general admission around $20-25. This year, 225 got a chance to peek behind the scenes. Check out our exclusive video below:
