Cool Winter Nights and Hot Jazz returns

Trumpeter Brian Shaw, pianist Willis Delony and bassist Bill Grimes provide the music for the Hot Summer Nights and Cool Jazz program in the warmer months. Next Monday and Tuesday, the trio returns for a seasonal update at the Manship Theatre. The concerts, dubbed “Cool Winter Nights and Hot Jazz,” will feature holiday favorites with an 18-piece big band and guest vocalists Elizabeth Floyd and Greg Daigle. Patrick Sylvest, Ryan Harris. Royal Cyclops presents a singer-songwriter showcase at Red Dragon Listening Room (Map it!). 7:30 p.m.
Ian Von. The local R&B singer will host a listening party for his latest release, Love Songs, Beats and Guitars, at Le Bon Temps Bar and Grill (Map it!). 8 p.m.

Eric Taylor. The Texas-based singer-songwriter performs at Red Dragon Listening Room (Map it!). 8 p.m.
Thanksgiving Night at Huey’s. The downtown bar hosts karaoke at 7 p.m.
Twerkyday. DJ Bird, Folky J and Culotta Rock will host a night of tunes at Red Star. $3. 9 p.m.

The Breton Sound, Down Up Speed. Two rock bands perform at Spanish Moon. $7. 10 p.m.
The Chee Weez.The cover band performs a free show at Walk-On’s on Burbank Drive (Map it!). 10 p.m.
Zoso. The Led Zeppelin tribute band plays The Varsity. Tickets are $12 online. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 9:30 p.m.

Mayhaps, Sirens, I’m an Island.Three rock bands perform at Spanish Moon. The show also includes visual artists Molly Perrauly, Anne Lipscomb and Sage Rose. $5. Doors open at 9 p.m. The show starts at 10 p.m.
International Night. DJ Germani Santos hosts this night of flavorful music at The Varsity. The event includes a free salsa lesson at 9 p.m. as well as hula-hoop artists, samba dancers and more. Tickets are $10 online. Doors open at 9 p.m.

The Very Merry Christmas Tour 2013. NewSong, Audio Adrenaline, Sidewalk Prophets, Jason Castro and Love & The Outcome perform at the River Center. Tickets are $15 at the door or “pay what you can.” For more information, click here or call 389-3030.
