Continuing performances
Swine Palace continues its run of Joseph Hanreddy and J.R. Sullivan’s adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel Pride and Prejudice at the Shaver Theatre. Real-life married couples bring their experiences to the roles of Elizabeth Bennet, Mr. Darcy, Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, and Lord and Lady Lucas. Sparks fly between the rich Mr. Darcy and the independent Elizabeth Bennet—but the titular pride and ingrained class prejudice keep them apart. Can they overcome these obstacles and follow their hearts? Find out in this much-loved romantic drama. Tickets are available at swinepalace.org. And Baton Rouge Little Theatre continues to enchant audiences at the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream. Catch all the heartwarming drama at the Baton Rouge Little Theatre, running through Feb. 12. Tickets are available at brlt.org.
