Continuing ‘Education’

Remember the name Carey Mulligan. That’s the one you might hear called out on Oscar night. The 24-year-old British actress has a break out role on her hands with the Nick Hornby-penned An Education. Mulligan stars as Jenny, a young prep school musician looking ahead to her 17th birthday and trying make the grades for Oxford when she gets unexpectedly swept off her feet by a smooth, mysterious man more than twice her age. Peter Sarsgaard plays David, the much older suitor who introduces Jenny to his more sophisticated and fast-paced world. But the more Jenny learns about David, including a shocking truth, the more she learns about herself. Alfred Molina and Rosamund Pike co-star. An Education is out this Friday in a limited release so make sure to check local listings before going to the theater. Rated PG-13.
