City of Ember ignites Friday

When after 200 years a fantastical underground city’s lights begin to flicker and burn out, two kids go on a quest to discover the truth about their sunless home and to save it from extinction. Based on Jeanne Duprau’s popular children’s novel and adapted by The Nightmare Before Christmas scribe Caroline Thompson, the family film stars Bill Murray, Tim Robbins and Mackenzie Crook. At a recent advance screening Murray praised the costumes of Ember as the best he’s ever worked with, and coming from a Ghostbuster, that’s a big compliment. Rated PG.
