Cinco de Mayo specials
Sunday is Cinco de Mayo, a United States celebration of Mexican heritage and culture that tends to draw crowds to many local Mexican restaurants. Several such restaurants are marking the occasion with drink specials and live music.
Serranos will feature live music Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m.-10:30 p.m., on the patio, as well as drink specials. On Sunday, the restaurant will host music from noon to midnight as well as shot specials and a “Dos Equis Man” costume contest.
Caliente Mexican Craving will host an all-day party Sunday with a spacewalk, face-painting and free concert with music from The Chee Weez, starting at 6 p.m. Drink specials have already started, with $5 margaritas, $2 drafts and $3 well drinks.

La Carretta will feature live music starting at 12:30 p.m. as well as $9 16 oz. top-shelf margaritas, $4 bottled beers, $3 drafts and $3 Dos Lunas and Don Saul Tequila shots.
Mestizo will feature two days of fun, including a Chihuahua beauty pageant on Saturday at 2 p.m. and live music at 6 p.m. On Sunday, there will be live music starting at noon and a limited menu as well as a tamale-eating contest at 3:30 p.m., comedy and karaoke from 4 p.m. until closing and a “Pimp Your Sombrero” contest.
