Christmas Parade downtown

Saturday afternoon, the 2012 Cortana Kiwanis Christmas Parade will roll through downtown Baton Rouge for the 62nd year. Bring the kids to see 80 decorated floats, walking troupes and bands, and celebrate the start of the Christmas season with music, throws and—of course—Santa Claus himself. The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. at River Road near North Boulevard, and continues through downtown until it reaches the State Capitol building. The parade will be preceded by the first-ever Kiwanis Santa Fun Run, where hundreds of Santas will dash through downtown Baton Rouge along the parade route.
