China in concert

The Houston Chinese Traditional Music Group will appear in concert this Saturday at the LSU School of Music Recital Hall, their first performance outside of the Houston area. Enjoy the sounds of ancient instruments, like the two-stringed erhu, the zither-like guzheng, the pear-shaped pipa and the bamboo dizi. This singular orchestra will create music rarely heard on this side of the world, a repertoire of classic Chinese folk songs and operettas. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for students.
