Cheers: The Hurricane
What Louisianan hasn’t sipped one of these sweet, rummy cocktails while strolling through the French Quarter on a balmy weekend night? Named after the hurricane lantern-shaped glass it’s traditionally served in, it also has a reputation for causing a “perfect storm” of flavor and inebriation. With Mardi Gras season upon us, college students and vacationers alike will be downing glass after glass of this uniquely-named drink and casting their hands in the air to catch beads. If you’re not up for a walk down Bourbon Street, or just feel like mixing up a pitcher for a parade party, this recipe is the real thing.
