The sugar-white sand and emerald Gulf waters aren’t the only things for which Pensacola Beach is known. One of its bars, the Sandshaker, has been known for its signature drink—the rich, creamy, chocolate-y Bushwacker—for more than 30 years. The bar’s previous owner visited a resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where they enjoyed a similar drink so tasty they brought the recipe to try out on customers. The owner experimented with various ingredients before settling on a recipe. Pensacola Beach honors the drink each summer with a weekend festival.

Ingredients4 oz. Coco Lopez1 oz. rum (Bacardi)1 oz. dark cream de cacao2 oz. coffee liqueur (Kahlua)4 oz. milk2 cups ice
