Cheers: More than coffee and whipped cream
In a small booth at the Melting Pot, a couple enjoys a romantic night out, dipping morsels in cheese and steaming broil fondues, then lingering over a specialty drink called the Café International ($6). Served in a tall angular glass, the Café International looks like an ordinary dessert beverage, but it’s not your typical coffee topped with whipped cream. Kahlua dominates this decadent drink with its rich roasted flavor, and Grand Marnier slowly adds warmth with every sweet sip; Bailey’s Irish Cream holds it all together in a cozy embrace. The Café International makes a perfect conclusion to the restaurant’s leisurely paced meals and even pairs well with the indulgent chocolate and liqueur dessert fondues. Beware the whipped cream mustache! —Shelia De Guzman
