Last week’s New Orleans Wine & Food Experience not only introduced hundreds of trendy reds and whites, but the liquor brands also introduced plenty of new, spirited treats.

Brian Robinson of Arlington, Va., won the Anniversary Cocktail Contest at the historic Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter, hosted by Ann and Paul Tuennerman (aka Mr. and Mrs. Cocktail, hosts of the upcoming Tales of the Cocktail). Robinson’s Monteleone Cocktail, which was up against recipes from Ireland, London, New York and San Francisco, will be featured in the hotel’s legendary Carousel Bar.

Mixologists, listen up. Here is Robinson’s winning recipe for the Monteleone Cocktail:

2 oz Rye Whiskey

1 ? oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur

? oz Domaine De Canton Ginger Liqueur

2 dashes Fee Brothers Orange Bitters

Splash ginger ale

Shake ingredients and strain into a julep cup or cocktail glass with crushed ice. Garnish with orange slice.
