Cheers: Dripping Springs Vodka

Dripping Springs Vodka may be Texas-distilled, but it’s making a big splash overseas. Last year it took home the gold medal at the International Wine and Spirits competition, a category normally dominated by Russian and Polish distilleries. It also took home the coveted “Vodka Purity” trophy, an award given not annually but only when a vodka brand meets the highest standards set by the competition. The last time it was awarded was in 1987, so these Texas boys might be onto a good thing. This lone star libation is available in many B.R. stores, so take a taste trip to the Southwest with this cocktail recipe: Frozen Caralina Cocktail3/4 ounce Dripping Springs3/4 ounce Paula’s Texas Orange1 1/2 ounces Ruby Red Texas Grapefruit Juice1 cup of ice cubesBlend until smooth. Serve in a stemmed cocktail glass. Repeat as necessary.
