Check out produce and more at the Red Stick Farmers Market
The Red Stick Farmers Market gets in on the patriotic spirit this weekend. The Saturday market kicks off at 8 a.m. at Fifth and Main streets and will showcase produce such as watermelon, sweet corn, blueberries and more. Local trumpeter John Gray will open the market at 8 a.m. with a rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner,” then perform throughout the day with his band. Festivities continue as Sara Vincent of Re: salad dressings and marinades combines fresh meat and vegetables from the market with her signature marinade for a cooking demonstration inside the Main Street Market at 10 a.m. If raining, the market will move inside the Galvez parking garage.
