Charmed, I’m Sure

Ah, Wednesday Addams, my favorite frowning friend. She is sassy, brooding, and likes ballet. Her collars are iconic, and her manner generally rude. And yet…I still love her.

The latest collection from local design student Maddie Louviere is a blend of punk and princess. Louviere’s aesthetic was, essentially, Wednesday Addams at charm school and it, was, perfect. The propriety of a high neckline and ladylike collar, mixed with the strong shoulders. Leather details, a back cutout, and an exposed zipper toughen up the look of the dress. It’s still demure, but with a little extra spunk.
