Celebrate the hummingbirds

The Feliciana Nature Society’s annual Hummingbird Celebration kicks off Friday in St. Francisville. The celebration promotes the “unique breeding habitat” the city provides for hummingbirds. Guests can enjoy wine and cheese while strolling through the Rosedown gardens Friday as well as interact with guest speaker Kathryn Fontenot. On Saturday, event attendees will be able to observe hummingbirds up close from two private homes. Hummingbird-friendly plants will also be sold at the event. A reception will be held Friday evening at Rosedown Plantation beginning at 6 p.m. Admission for Friday’s reception is $10, and Saturday’s events are free. For more information, click here.
