Celebrate the 234th anniversary of the Battle of Baton Rouge
In Baton Rouge 234 years ago, an army of nearly 1,500 French, Spanish, American Indians and African Americans ousted the British from Louisiana and the Mississippi River in a significant turn in the American Revolutionary War. In honor of the anniversary of the Battle of Baton Rouge, the Louisiana Society of the Sons of the American Revolution has planned a reenactment at Fort San Carlos near Capitol Park Museum Saturday. A special tour of the Louisiana at War gallery in the museum will start the day at 9 a.m., followed by a trip to the battlefield with the reenactors at 12:30 p.m. For more information, click here.
