The monster movie is reborn (again). After a 16-year hiatus, Godzilla returns to the silver screen this weekend with a new cast, director and look. While Roland Emmerich’s Godzilla was cheesy and featured a hit song from Diddy and Jimmy Page, director Gareth Edwards’ new take on the popular Japanese film is more solemn. Edwards got the job to direct the new Godzilla after the critically acclaimed Monsters took everyone by surprise in 2010. Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Elizabeth Olsen (who will play the Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron) star. Rated PG-13. View the trailer below.
