Calendar: Whole Foods film festival … Braveheart food and wine tasting … Domaine Serene wine dinner

Putting down ‘Roots’: Catch a charity screening of the eco-documentary Urban Roots this Sunday at the Manship Theatre, the first of a series of food-focused films in Whole Foods Market’s “Do Something Reel” film festival. Urban Roots focuses on a group of Detroit residents struggling to plant produce in a city full of processed foods. Proceeds from the show will go towards a grant for future eco-conscious filmmakers. Visit manshiptheatre.org for more information. Help kids, help yourself: Visit the Little Village on Airline on Thursday, April 14, from 6-8 p.m. for a special benefit event on behalf of the Braveheart Children in Need organization. This local nonprofit improves the quality of life for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. The event will feature delicious Little Village food, wine selections and a raffle. Admission is free, although donations are encouraged. In their ‘Domaine’: Wednesday, April 6, Juban’s hosts a Domaine Serene Wine Dinner—multiple courses, each paired with a delicious wine. The price is $100 per person. For reservations, call 610-1190.
