Calendar: Whole Foods donating profits to Brees Dream Foundation … Women Chefs show off for charity
It’s a ‘Brees’ to donate: Shop at the Whole Foods Baton Rouge store on Feb. 29, and 5% of your purchase will be donated toward the Brees Dream Foundation’s hunger initiatives. In 2011, Drew Brees was selected as a national Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations World Food Programme, which fights hunger in over 70 countries and depends entirely on voluntary donations. Through his foundation and collaboration with WFP, Brees will work on a variety of projects to address hunger in communities globally. Funds raised from the Feb. 29 5% Day will go to support these initiatives. The Whole Foods Market Louisiana Team Members encourage the community to do the bulk of their weekly shopping on Feb. 29 and support a great cause. For more information, visit drewbrees.com and wfp.org/brees. Charitable chefs: The 17th annual Women Chefs’ Show Off to benefit the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center/Battered Women’s Program will be held Thursday, March 15, 6-9 p.m., at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel Atrium.
