Calendar: Toyota Farm to Table Tour … EMS Jambalaya benefit

Vroom-vroom: Toyota’s popular Farm to Table Tour is coming to Baton Rouge’s Red Stick Farmers Market the morning of Aug. 28. The tour will help showcase the connection between farmers, chefs, farmers’ markets and the communities they serve—as well as giving market-goers a chance to check out Toyota’s new line of hybrid vehicles. Don’t feel like car shopping? You can munch on some snacks, prepared by local chefs such as Terry McDonner and Chris Motto, made on-the-spot from ingredients bought at the morning’s market. Visit farmtotabletour.com for more information. Emergency help for emergency helpers: Zak Stewart and Trey Thompson are both Emergency Medical Services personnel—and they’ve both been stricken with medical emergencies of their own. To help the families with their medical bills, the EMS Paramedic Association is holding a Jambalaya benefit on Tuesday, Aug. 31, and Thursday, Sept. 2. Order a jambalaya dinner with white beans, bread and dessert and know that 100% of the proceeds are going to families that need your help.
