Calendar: Shamrocks and Champagne … J. Lohr wine dinner at Juban’s

Martini on the shamrocks: If Irish eyes are smiling, you’re probably at the Baton Rouge Irish Club’s annual Shamrocks and Champagne brunch, being held this Saturday at Boudreaux and Thibodeaux’s. Irish dancers will whirl, bagpipers will pipe—and you can score a delicious breakfast and fun items at the silent auction. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission is $25. Tickets are available at the Elizabethan Gallery, at 680 Jefferson Hwy. Juban’s jubilation: Next Thursday, March 8, Juban’s will present a six-course wine dinner featuring wines from J. Lohr Vineyards. Enjoy poached redfish and sunflower sprout salad, deconstructed lamb shank, and pork belly brulée accompanied by Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnays picked for their perfect taste compliments.
