Juban’s brewin’: Thursday, Sept. 29, join Juban’s chef Jaime Hernandez and manager Michael Plauche Thursday, September 29, 2011 as Juban’s Restaurant & NOLA Brewing join up to celebrate the tastes of fall. Autumnal ambrosia: Strands invites you to sit and sip this Oct. 8 and Oct. 29 for their Acadian Autumnal Teas. Enjoy platters of dainties, finger-sandwiches and pastries while you sip a personal pot of tea or coffee throughout. Semiformal attire is suggested. Cooking with spice: Manjeet Bhatia, author of Don’t Say Curry and creator of Touch of India spice blend, will present a series of hands-on cooking classes featuring home-style Indian cuisine in October. A different topic will be featured at each class. All classes will be taught 10 a.m. to noon at Pelican Point in Gonzales. Topics range from lentils and bread to fish and appetizers.
