Calendar: Firefly at Fred’s … Sunset by the Lake benefit … Abita dinner at Galatoire’s

Not your mom’s iced tea: Fred’s in Tigerland will be hosting a special two-day tailgating event with Firefly Vodka. The crew at Fred’s and a team from Firefly will be mixing up all the flavors of Firefly’s sweet tea vodka with fresh-squeezed lemonade. Party down early on Friday, starting at 3 p.m., and join them at noon on Saturday to see what a real southern sweet tea should taste like. Both days are free of cover, with music and giveaways before, during and after the game.Spirited soiree: BREADA will be hosting “Sunset by the Lake,” a benefit for the Red Stick Farmers Market, Main Street Market and Louisiana’s local farms and food artisans. The dinner will feature a farm-fresh menu paired with local libations. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at breada.org. Oct. 18, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 2785 E. Lakeshore Drive. A beery good time: Galatoire’s Bistro will host an Abita Beer Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 22, featuring several Abita specialty brews paired with delicious Galatoire’s dishes. House-made sausages topped with slow-cooked onions and fried oysters paired with Jackamo IPA, and paneed rabbit leg paired with Andy Gator brew are just a taste of what you’ll be tasting.
