Button up this week

One of the most accomplished films ever made in Louisiana comes to DVD this week with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The film earned 13 Oscar nominations including Best Picture. In between building green houses in the Ninth Ward, Brad Pitt starred in this David Fincher-directed film about a man who ages backwards through the 20th century. The rambling, Odyssey-esque narrative carries Pitt across the globe on a series of adventures and misadventures pent-poled by his love for Cate Blanchett. Throughout, he searches for the meaning of life and the impact of his experiences in this film adapted from a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald and retrofitted for gorgeous New Orleans scenery. Taraji Henson, Julia Ormond and Tilda Swinton co-star. Rated PG-13.
