Burgersmith opens on Perkins

-

Lafayette restaurant Burgersmith has opened its first Baton Rouge location on Perkins Road, serving up signature “smith-seasoned” patties on soft fresh bread alongside blanched French fries and Smith Ale. Prime USDA beef shipped in from Chicago is the main draw on the menu, with pick-your-own ingredients and “Smith sauce,” a spicy mayo made in-house. But Burgersmith does more than burgers; they also offer salads, sandwiches and hot dogs, as well as seasonal items such as the Cajun Bratwurst, made with chicken breast and andouille sausage on a bun, and the pescetarian-friendly shrimp burger. Patrons can also sample dozens of locally made beers, on tap and bottled, showcasing makers from Abita to the Big Easy Brewery. In its location in the Acadian-Perkins Plaza, near the former site of the Caterie, Burgersmith may bring a little bit of the old college vibe back to the area. burgersmith.com
