Brass it up on the Capitol steps for Labor Day

Tired of spending Labor Day on the couch with a bag of Lay’s Sour Cream & Onion? Sounds like you need a new tradition. The Baton Rouge Concert Band has a tradition you could witness. Since its inception in 1976, the orchestra has played free shows, performing classic brass and woodwind-filled songs. This Monday, Wesley McCoy leads the 55-strong volunteer group on the steps of the Capitol. 7 p.m. Free. batonrougeconcertband.org.
