BR Walls reveal downtown … Pop-up dinner at Roux Wine
Reunion and reveal: To celebrate the completion of the BR Walls Project’s second mural, Harrington’s Cafe is hosting a party at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, and all of Baton Rouge is invited. Enjoy a sampling of the restaurant’s dishes and ice cream for the kids while taking in the mural artwork by artist Joseph Konert on the outside of the restaurant. Next door at the Mentorship Academy, Brian Dixon will host a book signing party and meet and greet. For the grand finale, the imagery for the upcoming Wall No. 3 on the Mentorship Academy building will be unveiled. Free and open to the public. More information at brwallsproject.com.
Pop up and eat up: 225 contributor and cooking enthusiast Jay Ducote is partnering with the Vending Machine Winery to do a one-night pop-up wine dinner at Roux Wine and Spirits in Prairieville. Neil and Monica Gernon from Vending Machine Winery will bring four amazing wines, and Ducote will pair them with very creative cuisine. In keeping with the theme, each course will incorporate one ingredient commonly found in a vending machine. Thursday, Oct. 25. Tickets are $75. Click here for the menu and more information.
